The real estate business is only partly about houses, financing and markets. It's mostly about people. The following is a true story I want to share which illustrates this the best way I know how.
Over a year ago I was introduced to Jamie Savarese and her husband, Captain Frank Savarese. Frank is a United States Marine Corp fighter pilot. They were renting at that time and perhaps looking to purchase a home. They chose to continue renting at that time, and we agreed to stay in touch.
About 10 months later I was contacted by Jamie who indicated they were ready to buy. She was concerned because Frank was overseas on deployment and she didn't know how we'd manage to proceed without Frank here. Well, because of their extraordinary trust and a whole lot of blind faith, we successfully negotiated a contract for the purchase of their new home.
Here's the best part. As fate would have it, Frank returned home from his deployment on July 3rd and got to view his new house for the very first time on the 4th of July 2009!
I'm so grateful that I've had the opportunity to represent Jamie and Frank Savarese in the purchase of their new home. The trust they've placed in me is something that I'm greatly honored by. And that honor pales in comparison with the commitment and sacrifice that Frank makes every day with his service - and the sacrifice that Jamie makes in having had to live her life with him gone so much of the time.
