Some Additional Thoughts About The Subject Of Property Condition
I always encourage people whose homes have failed to sell to analyze their property condition by asking themselves the following questions.
-
If you were a buyer walking through your house, would you consider it clean, uncluttered and in good repair?
- During the period of time your home was on the market for sale, what objections did prospective buyers raise about your home? That is, what about your prevented them from making an offer to buy it? These objections could include the listing price, property condition, location or some other factor. How can you compensate for these objections?
- Did you view (in person, not just online) other homes in your neighborhood that were on the market and sold while yours did not. How does your home compare in terms of price, condition and location? What about the house or houses that sold do you think caused them to sell instead of yours?
